FULL LIST: JCI Nigeria unveils top 30 finalists for 2025 outstanding young persons awards

The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has announced the top 30 finalists for the 2025 edition of its 10 Outstanding Young Persons of Nigeria (TOYP) awards.

The annual initiative recognises Nigerians aged 18 to 40 who have made significant contributions in various sectors through leadership in their respective fields.

In a statement on Tuesday, the organisers said the finalists were selected from over 600 entries received between January and February this year.

KPMG Nigeria, the audit partner for the initiative, handled the shortlisting process in collaboration with an independent jury.

According to the statement, finalists were drawn from 10 categories, including medical innovation, entrepreneurship, humanitarian service, and scientific development. One winner is expected to emerge in each category.

Yetunde Oyeyipo, chairperson of the 2025 TOYP committee, said public voting will contribute 40 percent of the final scores, while a jury will account for the remaining 60 percent.

Oyeyipo said voting opened at 6:30pm on Monday and will close at 11:59pm on August 6.

The top 10 honourees will be unveiled at an award ceremony on August 16 at EKO Hotel and Suites, Lagos, in commemoration of International Youth Day.

Oluwatoyin Atanda, JCI Nigeria president, said the programme is aimed at recognising young Nigerians who are “pioneering change, pushing boundaries, and championing innovation across various sectors”.

Some of the 2025 honourees, she added, may be nominated for the global JCI TOYP awards holding in Tunis, Tunisia, this November.

Previous Nigerian recipients of the global honour include Ray Ekpu, Ola Orekunrin, Adepeju Jaiyeoba, and Temie Giwa-Tubosun.
