Rivers United have been drawn against Tunisia’s Club Africain in Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw, which was held in Johannesburg on Friday, will see the Pride of Rivers also slug it out with Dreams FC of Ghana and Angola’s APC Lobito in the same group.

United qualified for the competition’s group stage after defeating Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante 2-0 on aggregate in the preliminary round.

They played out a goalless draw in Ouagadougou in the first leg before finishing the tie with two goals in the second leg in Port Harcourt.

The team is Nigeria’s sole representative on the continent, with Enyimba, Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance all failing to secure further places in the playoffs.

Group A has Egypt’s Modern Future FC, Libya’s Al Hilal FC, Supersport of South Africa and Algeria’s USM Alger.

Group B comprises Egypt’s Zamalek SC, Sagada Esperansa of Angola, Soar of Guinea and Libya’s Abu Salem.

Group D includes RS Berkane of Morocco, Congo Brazzaville’s Diables Noir, Stade Malien of Mali and South Africa’s SekhuKhune United.
