The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a committee to reconcile Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The relationship between Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa has been strained since the governor returned to the country after a three-month medical leave in Germany.

The Ondo state house of assembly has commenced an impeachment move against the deputy governor over an allegation of abuse of office.

The lawmakers have asked Olusegun Odusola, chief judge of the state, to set up a seven-member committee to probe Aiyedatiwa.

Aiyedatiwa has since faulted the impeachment process.

Inaugurating the committee on Friday in Abuja, Abdullahi Ganduje, APC national chairman, said the committee would advise the party on the best possible way to handle the issues.

The committee is headed by Aminu Masari, the immediate former governor of Katsina.
