Rabi’u Kwankwaso, outgoing governor of Kano state, has left a debt of over N105 billion meant for the payment of 2,715 uncompleted projects in the state, according to a transition committee.
Hafiz Abubakar, chairman of the transition committee and deputy governor-elect, disclosed this while presenting the committee’s report to Abdullahi Ganduje (picture), the incoming governor.
He said out of the more than N313 billion cost of the projects, the state government was able to pay N202.5 billion to contractors handling various projects.
Abubakar said the state government also inherited 665 projects valued at over N72 billion from the former administration of Ibrahim Shekarau, former governor of the state and the outgoing minister of education.

“Similarly, out of the N346.5 billion the 44 local governments received from the federation accounts, N346.2 billion was expended,” Abubakar said.
“By this report, it means we have very huge challenges to contend with.
“We need the understanding of people of Kano state as we have already started the austerity journey.”

Your comment..such is life. The out going governor Dr. Rabiu Musa Kkws has been black mailing the out going minister for education and kano state former governor for scanderling and extravagance of public tressury during his tenuer in office. His accused by Kkws for mismanaging 72 billion naira. Kkws compessed that Shekarau must be taken to court. Why Kkws changed his mind for not taking him to court? We just heard it now through social network that the out going governor left over N105b to in coming government. This ammount, does not include 44 local governments grants for about 4 years. I think the in coming governor will not pold his hands without taking legal action against this out going embesselled governor. I wish Ganduje will try his best to bring concrate stability particularly to field of security, health, war against corruptism, sanity in civil servise commission, job oppoturnity to the jobless youth of Kano state, bussiness stability and economic development as well as farming improvement. MASU GUDU SU GUDU. IN DAI KA SAN KAI SATA KA GUDU.
