Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appealed to members of the party in Ondo state to work together after last Saturday’s governorship primary election.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of Ondo, was declared the winner of the primary poll which was supervised by the Usman Ododo-led committee, despite allegations of irregularities.

He defeated 15 other contestants.

The appeal committee set up by the APC to entertain petitions from the party’s governorship primary election in Ondo said it had received three complaints.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday while playing host to Aiyedatiwa and his opponents, Ganduje said he called for the meeting to appeal for peace and cooperation among the leaders of APC in Ondo.

“The purpose of this meeting is to appeal. The purpose is not to dwell on what has happened, what has not happened, what is correct, what is not correct,” Ganduje said.

“If we dwell on that then it will lead to what we call; ‘too much analysis leads to paralysis’.

“We in the party here are both insiders and outsiders. So when you say something is inside and also outside you have to think about that oxymoron.

“We are insiders because it is our party, that is a ruling party in Ondo state and we are the managers of our party in Nigeria.

“So we are an interested party even if it is a local government election. We are outsiders because this state belongs to you, this party belongs to you.”

Isaac Kekemeke, a former vice-chairman of the APC in the south-west, and Wale Akinterinwa, a contestant for the ticket, were absent from the meeting.
