Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, says Abba Kyari, the late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, was always concerned about infrastructure during his lifetime.

Shehu, who was speaking at Kyari’s burial in Abuja on Saturday, said the late administrator was loyal to the president.

The news of Kyari’s death was announced on Friday. He had suffered complications from COVID-19.

In an interview with NTA at the burial, Shehu described Kyari’s death as “a big loss for the nation”.

“The presidency has lost it rallying point,” he said.

“Mallam Abba Kyari was institutional as a person. He held the place together for the presidency. His loyalty to the president was 100 percent. Nothing to take away.

“He gave his all to everything. His mind all the time had been on the legacies that President Muhammadu Buhari will leave behind. ”

He said the late Kyari was “spot on” all discussions about infrastructure,

“Abba Kyari would not stop talking about infrastructure because he has always believed the legacy president Buhari will leave behind is in those things that he will be leaving behind,” Shehu said.

“And Abba Kyari put everything into the achievement of that.”
