Gateway Games: Ogun thrash Kwara to clinch men’s football gold

Team Ogun defeated Kwara 4-1 to win men's football gold at 22nd National Sports Festival

Team Ogun defeated Team Kwara 4-1 to win the gold medal in the men’s football at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF).

Two goals each from Akinyele Ahmed and Olawore Emmanuel were the huge difference between the hosts and their opponents in front of a fully packed Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Hakeem Daranijo, Team Ogun’s head coach, credited his side’s analytical observation for the successful path to the gold medal.

“The team played to instructions. We watched Team Kwara play, and we did our homework to defeat them,” he said.
