Digital Transformation Leader, Globacom, has unveiled a consumer reward scheme styled ‘Recharge and Win Big’, also called ‘My Own Don Beta’.

The scheme will enable subscribers of the operator to win some tools that can set them on the path of entrepreneurship.

Ahead of the launch on Thursday, the promo had been preceded by several weeks of teaser campaign in traditional and online media, aimed at generating excitement among the subscribers of the company.

The prizes to be won in the promo, according to Globacom Retail and Consumer Sales Chief, David Maji, include Tricycles, popularly called Keke, Industrial Sewing Machines, Grinding Mills, and generators.

Mr. Maji said both existing and prospective subscribers are eligible to win prizes as from Thursday, October 3, 2019, in the promo that has taken the company several months to painstakingly put together.

Speaking on the mechanics of the promo, the Globacom Sales chief said a subscriber only needed to recharge his or her phone with a total of N200 in a day either in one recharge or cumulative recharges. He added that multiples of N200 would guarantee more chances of winning.

According to him, the promo is nationwide, while prize presentations will be held in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Ibadan, Kano, Jos, Enugu and Onitsha.

“Glo strongly believes in rewarding and empowering its numerous customers across Nigeria. Our objective is to transform thousands of lives through these empowerment packages to enable them become self-employed and ultimately affect the lives of those around them,” he said.

“This will have direct impact on their life situations. My Own Don Beta promises to be the most exciting people-oriented empowerment promo around. We urge Glo subscribers and non-subscribers not to miss this opportunity,” Maji said.

Dignitaries who attended the launch showered praises on Globacom for the initiative that they opined will empower Nigerians and put them on the path to prosperity.

The Acting Dean of Yaba College of Technology, Mr. O. R.  Balogun, congratulated Globacom on the introduction of the promo. He admitted that students already loved the Glo brand because of its reliable data services. He added that the students of the institution would be very happy to participate in the promo.

Also speaking, the Hon. Adewale Adedeji representing Ifako/Ijaye Constituency, commended Globacom for the promo. He expressed optimism that Nigerians would embrace the promo.

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Iyaloja General, Folashade Ojo; Dean, Students’ Affairs, University of Lagos, Prof. Ademola Adeleke, and his counterparts from the Lagos State University, Dr Olufemi Obayori,  the Director, Consumer Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, Mrs Felicia Onwuegbuchulam; Coordinator, Lagos Zonal Office of National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Mrs Priscillia Onuzulu; Ex-International, Austin Jay Jay Okocha; President General, Nigerian Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, and several Nollywood stars including Osas Ighodalo, Ebube Nwagbo, Damilola Adegbite and Odunlade Adekola.
