President Muhammadu Buhari says God will continue to “fish out the bad eggs” in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said this while addressing supporters of the APC at the commencement of the campaign rally for the Bauchi south senatorial district bye-election scheduled for August 11.
Gumau Yahaya is the APC candidate in the election.
Buhari told the people of the state that the APC-led government had remained faithful in implementing its campaign promise of improving the economy, securing the country, and the fight against corruption.
He promised that his government would not forget its campaign promises on which the people voted him into power.
“The work we are doing is because of God, our country and you. I want to inform you that the knowledge we have garnered over the years, we won’t allow you to be cheated,” Buhari said.
“‘Like we promised, what will determine a good future for the country are security, strong economy and to stop corruption.
“We campaigned on these things, you voted for us and we will never forget.”
Buhari, who was accompanied by Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the APC, governors of Bauchi, Plateau, Kano and Imo states, urged the people to vote Yahaya saying, “we have confidence in him and we trust him.”
Ali Wakili, the senator representing the district died earlier in the year.
