A photograph with sprint star, Usain Bolt, has backfired on three security guards at the Commonwealth Games.

Glasgow 2014 chiefs removed the staff from their positions after they had a selfie taken with the Jamaican superstar.

The individuals, though, remain employed by Sword Security, their parent company, but have been removed from duties at the Games.

The guards were also axed for aggressive behaviour, which “breached the conditions of their employment”.

The incident happened while Bolt trained at Lesser Hampden next to Hampden Park in preparation for the 4x100m relay on Friday.

All Games volunteers have now been told by their supervisors to remain professional and not to approach athletes for selfies.
