Gunmen have abducted EG Umokoro, a high court judge, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 7pm on Saturday in front of a popular eatery in the Ekeki area, along Chief Melford Okilo expressway.
The assailants were said to have intercepted the victim’s car, abducted him, and left his vehicle at the scene.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, Musa Mohammad, the police spokesperson in the state, told TheCable that the command has deployed tactical teams and drones in a bid to rescue the victim and apprehend the kidnappers.

“If somebody is wearing white, it does not mean black is a police uniform. What makes it a police uniform is the accoutrement. These hoodlums were not dressed in police uniforms,” he said.
“We are still reviewing our cameras, and the analysis is still going on.”
