Gunmen abduct traditional ruler in Imo

Joel Ndenkwo, a monarch in Imo state, has been abducted by gunmen.

Ndenkwo is the traditional ruler of Isiala Umudi autonomous community in Nkwerre LGA of the state.

He was abducted around 7 pm on Friday at a highbrow area in Owerri, Imo state capital.

Ndenkwo was seized by gunmen in front of his company, where he serves as the chief executive officer.

A source close to the traditional ruler told TheCable that the abductors are yet to establish contact with his family.

“HRH Eze Joel Ndenkwo of Udekings Electronics was kidnapped about 7pm Friday in front of his office at the ever busy Tetlow Road in Owerri,” the source said.

When contacted by TheCable, Michael Abattam, Imo police spokesperson, said he is yet to receive information on the abduction.
