Gunmen have attacked Craneburg Construction Company in Owo LGA, Ondo state, leaving two workers injured.
The company was said to have been attacked around 9:45 pm on Wednesday.
This comes weeks after gunmen attacked St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, killing 40 persons.
Confirming the incident in a tweet, the Ondo state police command said the injured have been taken to hospital where they are responding to treatment.
“Tonight, there was a shooting incident at CRANEBURG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Owo, policemen are currently at the scene, victims have been taken to hospital and they are in stable condition,” the tweet reads.
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, special adviser to Ondo state governor on security matters, told journalists he saw two security men lying on the ground upon assessment of the scene.
“I am just leaving the scene now where I went to assess the situation and I realised that the two security men on ground were injured as the attackers shot into the air,” he said.
“They got the windscreen of the caterpillar of the construction company damaged and the injured men have been receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
“By the grace of God, the situation is under control and I urge everyone to go about their normal businesses as I am on my way back to the Technical College where the newly recruited Amotekun officers are undergoing training.”
