Players of FC Robo, a Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) team, have been attacked by gunmen along Ijebu-Ode road in Ogun state.

TheCable understands that the team was attacked around 10pm on Tuesday night.

Players and officials of the Lagos-based club were heading to Agbor, Delta state, for their week seven match against Delta Queens.

Lagos Landladies, as they are popularly called, are still stranded on the roadside in Ijebu-Ode as at the time of reporting.

Following the attack, the driver of the team bus was initially reported missing — but he has now been found.
