Gunmen killed a German sub-contractor and abducted a worker of Julius Berger construction company near Sagamu, Ogun state, police said on Monday.

The two men, who were travelling in their separate cars without their security escorts, were attacked on Friday. They were on their way to Ogbere quarry, where they worked in Ogun state.

According to Reuters, one car was stopped by the gunmen shooting, and when the driver of the other car saw what had happened he attempted to turn around but the attackers also opened fire on that vehicle, killing the German citizen.

Julius Berger confirmed the incident but did not mention the nationality of the victims.
