Gunmen have reportedly abducted Aondo Ver, a director with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), in the federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja.
Punch reports that Ver was abducted from his home, which lies some 200 metres away from a military base in Pambara Extension, in the Bwari area council.
The bandits were said to have struck around 12.30 am on Thursday, while shooting sporadically and spreading panic in the area.
They escaped into the surrounding bushes with the abductee.
Residents confirmed that the incident occurred near a military base popularly known as ‘camp’.
Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of the FCT police command, did not immediately respond to requests for comments on the incident.
There have been a spate of kidnappings for ransom in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, in recent times.
