At least 27 farmers, including men and women, were reportedly killed in a brutal attack by gunmen on Bindi-Jebbu in Tahoss community, Riyom LGA of Plateau state on Monday.
Several others were said to be injured and rushed to hospitals, including Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) and Plateau Hospital.
Dalyop Solomon, national president of Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), accused Fulani militia groups of orchestrating the violence.
He described how the gunmen stormed the community on Monday, shooting indiscriminately and setting houses ablaze.

“About 27 persons were killed and many were injured. We have taken the bodies to different hospitals pending burial arrangements,” Solomon said.
In a phone call with TheCable, Alfred Alabo, spokesperson of the police command, said the security agency will release a comprehensive statement about the incident very soon.
Meanwhile, the attack adds to the growing insecurity challenges in Plateau, raising concerns over the safety of rural communities in the state.
