Some gunmen killed a Point of Sale (PoS) operator in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti, on Thursday.

The PoS operator, identified as Alfa Taofeek, was shot in his shop, located after the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

Multiple reports indicate that the gunmen, numbering about three, arrived at the deceased’s shop on a motorcycle and opened fire on him, escaping with an undisclosed amount of money and phones.

Taofeek was said to be a popular petty trader who always had cash owing to the nature of his business.

Shortly after, it was gathered that the gunmen killed another person, a rice hawker, at Bisi Market in Ado Ekiti.

They shot and killed the wheelbarrow pusher at the market, forcing traders and passersby to flee for safety.

Abutu Sunday, the police spokesperson in Ekiti, confirmed both incidents to TheCable.

Sunday said none of the killers have been caught but added that efforts are underway to bring them to justice.
