Another Nigerian pilgrim participating in the Hajj has died in Saudi Arabia.
The deceased is from Kebbi state.
Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, executive chairman of the Kebbi pilgrims welfare board, disclosed this in a press statement on Sunday.
NAN reports that Muhammad Suleman, the deceased, died on Sunday after a brief illness in Makkah.
This follows the death of Tawakaltu Alako, a female pilgrim who also hailed from Kebbi.
Alako died on Saturday after collapsing in her Makkah hotel.
Aliyu-Enabo noted that Suleman was buried according to Islamic rites, while offering condolence to his relatives and Kebbi state pilgrims.
“The deceased died on Sunday after a brief illness and his funeral prayer was held at the Al-Masjid Al-Haram (Ka’aba). He was buried according to Islamic rites on the same day,” Aliyu-Enabo said.
“On behalf of the Kebbi State Government, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, Kebbi pilgrims, and the entire state.
“We pray to the Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul, as well as the souls of all departed Muslims, Jannatul Firdaus.”
