Bilikisu Adisa, a Lagos-based woman, has called for justice following the death of her daughter, Adijat, a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU).

In an interview with Punch, Adisa alleged that her daughter was killed and used for ritual purposes by her boyfriend.

She recounted how she had single-handedly raised Adijat from primary school through university and completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The mother-of-two said her daughter had been in a relationship with a man identified as Dian, whom she had met only once.

Adisa said she grew suspicious after noticing scars on her daughter’s body and told her to end the relationship with Dian.

She said when Adijat failed to show up at work on February 26, Dian called her to say they had a misunderstanding and her daughter fainted at his house.

She said the case was reported to the police after her daughter was found dead. She said the police discovered charms at the suspect’s house.

Adisa alleged that her daughter was killed for ritual purposes. She called on Nigerians to help her seek justice.

“When I met him, I told my daughter that I didn’t like him and asked her to stop dating him. She said he is from Igbira. I told her I don’t like those people,” she said.

“Then one morning her boss called to tell me that Adijat didn’t come to work. I wondered why and called her number several times but it did not go through. I started panicking.

“The guy she was dating also called to tell me he had been trying to reach her, but she wasn’t answering. That evening, he called me again and said Adijat came to his place, they had a misunderstanding, and she fainted. He asked me to come to his house in Abule Egba.

“When I got to his house, his father confirmed that my daughter is dead. We later went to the Meiran police station to report the case.

“My daughter went to his place on February 26, and he killed her that same day. The police took photos of the charms they found there. We have pictures where he hacked my daughter’s face. They noticed scars on her head and hand at the mortuary.

“I don’t know if he is a Yahoo boy because my daughter didn’t tell me his job. She only told me he was a Lagos State Polytechnic graduate and an ex-worker at Stanbic Bank. She said he owns a boutique in Agege and a pure water company.

“His family members were trying to dismiss the case at Meiran police station, so I transferred the case to Panti. I’m calling on Nigerians to help me. My daughter was used for rituals because we saw her blood in a bucket.”
