Herdsmen and youth of Umunor community in Ossissa kingdom, Ndokwa east local government area of Delta state engaged in a crossfire on Monday evening.

According to Punch, the mayhem was allegedly caused by the attempt of the herdsmen to invade the community.

Members reportedly scampered to close communities for safety even as a security post has been mounted in the community

“We don’t know if any casualty was recorded during Monday’s incident but there was a heavy exchange of gunfire between herdsmen and community members over a failed attack on Umunor community,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.

“Our men have been drafted there to keep the peace.”
