Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko, who has been announced as the next Olu of Warri.

He was named the olu-designate, following the official announcement of the demise of Ogiame Ikenwoli, the 20th Olu of Warri kingdom.

In a statement on Wednesday, Tunde Rahman, media aide to Tinubu, quoted his principal as saying the emergence of Emiko as the next monarch is a testament “to the fact that he is indeed ordained to mount the throne of his fore-fathers”.

Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos, prayed that the kingdom will experience rapid development and prosperity under Emiko.

While consoling the Itsekiri over the deceased monarch, the former governor said Ikenwoli worked towards achieving peace and unity.

“He was a remarkable king who worked hard to achieve peace and unity among his people and neighbours,” Tinubu said.

“My deepest condolences to the Olori,
members of the Ginuwa Ruling House, and the entire Itsekiri nation particularly at this period of mourning.”

Meanwhile, Ayirimi Emami, Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom and chairman of Warri Council of Chiefs, has said the kingdom is yet to have a new olu.
