Stoke City manager, Mark Hughes, insists Victor Moses’ injury problems will not put him off signing the on-loan Chelsea winger in the summer.

The 24-year-old is facing a third spell on the sidelines after going off on Saturday against West Ham with concern over his hamstring.

This latest injury hiccup will do nothing to strengthen his case for a permanent move, but Hughes remains open minded on the Super Eagles winger.

“Because he is an explosive player, the hamstring is always a danger and so he will always be a bit susceptible to those kinds of injuries,” he said.

“But that won’t affect my thinking on other decisions we make with Victor.

“He has done well for us this season, but he is a Chelsea player and so they decide on the timing of talks.

“We will get him back fit and well. He did have a problem with his thigh and they are a notorious injury, but he’s had no re-occurrence of that.”

Moses has only played 19 league games on his season-long loan from the Blues having missed games with thigh and leg injuries.

However, Hughes is set to go ahead with plans to sign him for £5million in the summer.
