Chris Green, head of technical committee, Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has said that there’s no friction between him and Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, on players selection.

“Rohr holds a healthy relationship with me and the technical committee,” Green told TheCable. “We speak and exchange emails regularly. There is nothing like that, it’s a figment of the reporter’s imagination.”

On the successful election of NFF president Amaju Pinnick into vital positions in CAF and FIFA, Green said: “It’s gratifying that our President now heads AFCON. We have a lot to benefit technically and in administration.

“We can even vie to host AFCON and be in pole position. We now have a voice.”

Green also said that there is no acrimony between him and any member of the board over the NFF-Aiteo deal for payment of national team coaches.

“Barrister Chris Green is not at loggerheads with anybody. The body has always been United. We agree and disagree at times but at the end we all harmonise,” he said.

“Aiteo is one big achievement and a log off the shoulders of NFF.”

Green shut down the widely held belief that the NFF only gives priority to the Super Eagles at the detriment of other national teams.

“That’s not true,” he said. “NFF attaches the same importance to all our national teams.”

Harping on the contentious issue of recalling goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to the Super Eagles, he said: “It’s the coach’s decision.”
