IBB happy with Oshiomhole for ‘people-oriented projects’

Ibrahim Babaginda, former military head of state, has commended Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state for embarking on developmental projects.
He made the commendation in the state while speaking at a reception in honour of Chief Tom Ikimi, leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the South-South
Babanginda, who chaired the 70th birthday party of the APC chieftain, said that the efforts of Oshiomhole were worth emulating by other governors in the country.
According to him, the essence of governance was to impact on the lives of the people through people-oriented policies that would foster development.
IBB said the development of infrastructure by the government did not only beautify the state, but also showed that government was committed in ensuring that the people enjoyed democratic dividends.
The former head of state said he was impressed with the provision of a conducive learning environment for pupils and students by the Oshiomhole-led administration.
The governor showered encomiums on the celebrant, describing him as a man, whose lifestyle was worth emulating.
In his words, “Although Ikimi is a professional architect, he is also a political architect, designing alternative political platform to strengthen the nation’s democracy.’’
Oshiomhole said that Nigeria needed leaders who could stand and make sacrifices for the nation so that the younger generation could enjoy and have a better future.
Some of the dignitaries at the occasion were: Mr. Jerry Rawlings, former Ghanaian president, and Alhaji Abdusalam Abubakar, former military Head of State,.
Others were Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President; Mr. Philip Shaibu, Edo House of Assembly Majority Leader; Sen. Chris Ngige, former governor of Anambra state; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the APC and Dr. Doyin Okupe, Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs.
