ICP.Hub Sahara, a leading innovation outfit, says it will host a startup pitch initiative to empower emerging entrepreneurs across Nigeria and other West African countries.

ICP.Hub Sahara is the official hub for internet computer protocol (ICP) in West Africa.

In a statement on Sunday, Adedayo Adebajo, co-founder of the hub, said the motive behind the new initiative is to support and nurture budding entrepreneurs in Nigeria and the sub-region.

Adebajo said startups will be invited to pitch their ideas on designated “Pitch Tuesday” sessions hosted on X space.

“ICP.Hub Sahara is introducing a dynamic initiative called “Innovate West Africa: Pitch Tuesday,” the statement reads.

“This initiative invites startups operating in both Web2 and Web3 domains, including those leveraging the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), to pitch their innovative ideas for a chance to win grants and invaluable support.

“This interactive platform provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their vision, creativity, and potential impact.”

Adebajo said a voting mechanism will be initiated on X, allowing the community to vote for their favourite projects.

He said three winners would be selected 24 hours after voting based on community engagement and potential for growth.

“The top three winners will receive gifts of $150, $100, and $50 respectively, as an encouragement to further develop their ideas and bring them to fruition,” the ICP.Hub Sahara co-founder said.

“Additionally, startups that have commenced building their Minimum Viable Product (MVP) will have the chance to win a substantial $5000 grant to fuel their development efforts.

Speaking on the broad benefits of the event, he said participants will have access to grant funding to kickstart or scale their startups.

Adebajo said they can also showcase their ideas to a diverse audience of industry experts, investors, and potential collaborators.

He said there are networking opportunities where participants will connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, mentors, and industry leaders.

“They will also gain access to mentorship and resources to refine your business model, strategy, and execution plan,” he added.
