The Kaduna state government has declared a 24-hour curfew in all 23 local government areas of the state.

The curfew had earlier been imposed on only Chikun and Kaduna south local government areas after some residents of the state broke into a warehouse located at Gwari avenue and carted away COVID-19 relief items.

But Samuel Aruwan, commissioner for internal security and home affairs, disclosed in a statement that the restriction was extended to cover all areas of the state in order to safeguard lives and properties.

“This measure is taken to help safeguard our communities, protect lives and property and contain criminal elements who are looting public and private assets,” Aruwan said.
