Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has ordered the commencement of a 72-hour operation to clear the Apapa-Oshodi expressway gridlock.

Osinbajo gave the directive on Friday when he made an unscheduled stop at the Apapa port area for an assessment of the situation on the road.

Heavy-duty trucks parked on the road have caused traffic gridlock, obstructing vehicular movement around the axis over the past few days.

The vice-president directed the concerned authorities to restore normalcy on the expressway. He also urged ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to speed up the decongestion of the port.
