Odion Ighalo says he will be out for four weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in Changchun Yatai’s 2-2 draw in the Chinese Super League on Wednesday.

Ighalo said he is sad to miss the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification game against South Africa.

The striker, however, said he has accepted his fate.

“I pulled my hamstring,” Ighalo told TheCable. “I am going to out for four to five weeks due to the hamstring injury. I sustained it in our home game yesterday.

“Things like this happen in football and I have accepted it.

“So, sad that I won’t play against South Africa in our Nation’s Cup qualifier next weekend, and I was already looking forward to the match but God knows best.”

Ighalo backed the Super Eagles to defeat the Bafana Bafana in the crucial qualifier.

“But I believe in the team to beat South Africa in their backyard,” he said.

“I’ll be supporting them all the way.”

The Eagles will face the South African side on November 17 in Johannesburg.
