Usman Baba, the inspector general of police (IGP), has ordered an investigation into the alleged assault of Olorunsogo Bamidele, an officer in the Osun command.

Bamidele said she was assaulted by Ajayi Matthew, the divisional crime officer (DCO) of Ode Emu police division, for rejecting his love advances.

On Tuesday, Bamidele, in a now-viral video, alleged that she was stripped naked and beaten by Matthew after she turned him down.

The female officer, while showing bruises on her body, said Matthew assaulted her in front of two constables and 10 civilians while threatening to shoot her with a gun.
