TheCable’s team of the week is made up of two Leicester City players, as the Foxes won against Crystal Palace — thanks to wonderful performances by Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, amongst others, who both featured.

This week’s team will see an adventurous 3-4-3 pattern deployed, with former Golden Eaglets safe hands in between the sticks.

Dele Alampasu – Ventspils

Dele Alampasu’s calmness and composure helped Ventspils beat Liepija 2-1 in the Virsliga.

William Troost-Ekong – Udinese

Careful at the back and pushing up front: an important role in Udinese’s home draw.

Musa Muhammed – HNK Gorica

The former Golden Eaglets skipper showed why he deserves a national team recall with another sumptuous display for Gorica.

Brian Idowu – Lokomotiv Moscow

The usual consistency and practicality for the experienced Lokomotiv Moscow player. A clean sheet against Sochi helped the hosts keep their Champions League hopes intact.

Nathan Ofoborh – Wycombe Wanderers

Started like a Cheetah in the rout at Fleetwood, before running and resulting decisive with a thunderous strike for the opener.

Wilfred Ndidi – Leciester City

The heart of the Foxes midfield, running tirelessly and annihilating the enemies. He was also a constant threat to the Crystal Palace back four with some important runs up front.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal

What he did in the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers is more than enough to include him. A wonderful strike that hit Wolves like Tsunami. Absolute quality again from Saka.

Kelechi Iheanacho – Leicester City

The forward was playing less at a stage this season, they said. No problem, a goal against Crystal Palace added to his crucial defensive work that frees Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez.

Ovie Ejaria – Reading

A beautiful assist and performance that killed Luton in the midfield: absolutely decisive in a fundamental Saturday.

Peter Michael – Oeygarden FK

Peter Michael is finally with Oeygarden! Two goals, a great game, and the best possible way to start life at a new club. He impressed against Sandnes in the Norwegian league.

Simy Nwankwo – Crotone

What a hat-trick, Simy was simply unplayable and can only do better. Helped his team demolish Benevento 3-0.
