Kelechi Iheanacho scored for Leicester City in their 4-2 loss to Newcastle United in their English Premier League (EPL) game played at the King Power stadium on Friday night.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward scored Leicester’s second goal to half the deficit after Newcastle had netted twice in each half.

The self-styled “Seniorman Kels” who won the EPL player of the month for March — and has been nominated for the April prize — has now scored ten league goals since March.

He has scored 11 league goals this season and tonight’s strike is his 10th goal in nine EPL matches and the most by any player in the league during the period.

Joe Willock and Paul Dummett scored in the first half while Callum Wilson’s brace made it four goals to the relegation-threatened visitors before Marc Albrighton pulled one back for the Foxes.

With three minutes left to play, the 24-year-old Iheanacho collected an Ayoze Perez pass and evaded two markers before burying a low shot into the bottom corner at the near post with the Newcastle United goalkeeper rooted to the spot to make it 4-2.

Newcastle move up to 13th on the EPL table with 39 points and are just one point away from securing their league status for next season.

However, Leicester, who are chasing a Champions League slot, remain third with 63 points from 35 matches, two ahead of Chelsea who could overtake them this weekend.
