‘Ijebu Igbo has lost a hero’ — tributes pour in for Buruji Kashamu
Tributes are pouring in for Buruji Kashamu, a former senator from Ogun state, who passed away on Saturday.
According to Ben Murray-Bruce, former senator from Bayelsa, Kashamu died of complications from COVID-19 at First Cardiologist Consultants in Lagos.
Kashamu will be the third reported prominent Nigerian to die of COVID-19 at First Cardiologist Consultants.
Abba Kyari, former chief of staff to the president, and Abiola Ajimobi, former governor of Oyo state, also died at the hospital.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of late Senator Buruji Kashamu. May the Almighty Allah accept his soul, forgive his shortcomings and heal the loved ones he left behind,” Abubakar Atiku tweeted.
