Uba Sani, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, says he will restore peace among the diverse people in the state if elected.

In a statement on Wednesday issued to condole with the families of victims of the attacks by gunmen in Zagon Kataf LGA of the state, Sani described the incident as unfortunate.

At least 27 persons have been killed in separate attacks in the LGA within four days.

While 17 persons were reportedly killed on Saturday, another 10 were said to have been murdered on Tuesday.

Both attacks reportedly happened at night.

Zangon Kataf is one of the LGAs in the southern part of Kaduna that have witnessed killings over the years due to a complex number of problems including farmer-herder conflicts.

“I am deeply pained by the attack on the Zangon Kataf community, the loss of lives, and the wanton destruction of property,” NAN quoted the senator representing Kaduna central as saying.

The candidate said security is a “key component” of his manifesto, adding that security agencies should do their best in keeping residents in the state safe.
