The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has warned that its passport application platform will experience temporary disruptions as it undergoes routine maintenance.
In a statement issued on Friday, A.S. Akinlabi, the NIS public relations officer, said the maintenance will run from Friday to Sunday.
“During this period, users will experience temporary service interruptions, slow response times, or limited access to selected NIS Passport Services,” the statement reads.
“The Service kindly requests the public’s patience and understanding, as this maintenance is essential to sustaining a reliable, secure, and efficient digital passport ecosystem.

“Our technical teams are working round-the-clock to ensure full-service restoration within the stated timeframe.”
Akinlabi asked the public seeking enquiries or assistance during the maintenance window to contact the NIS support team through social media or contact centre numbers.
The development comes days after the NIS announced the activation of temporary complaint-response channels on social media following the takedown of its support accounts.

The service said the new channels were created to ensure uninterrupted engagement with applicants experiencing difficulties with passport and visa processes.
Affected applicants were directed to channel their complaints through the temporary X handles @InquireAtNaija, @nigimmigration, and @InquireAtNaija_, as well as via Instagram.
