A disturbing video featuring Mike Ogiasa, cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been circulating on social media.

Mike Ogiasa, a former commissioner for special duties (federal projects) in Bayelsa state, was abducted in early June by gunmen in his hometown, Otuabadi, in Ogbia LGA.

In a video that has now gone viral on social media, he can be seen stripped to the waist in a shallow grave with murky water at an unknown location.

Ogiasa, whose hands were tied, and his head covered with a black hood which was later removed, can be heard pleading to his friends and families to arrange any amount in their possession for his release.

“Is the money that is there more important than my life? You are seeing me in the grave, please do everything possible to come and release me,” he cried out.

“Every money that is available, any money that you can make, do everything possible to come and release me.”

TheCable reached out to a close family member who confirmed that Ogiasa is the man in the viral video.

The Bayelsa state police command has also reacted to the viral video.

Asinim Butswat, police spokesperson in the state, said security agencies are working towards rescuing Ogiasa unhurt.
