The Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP) has flagged off construction of a research centre at its coordinated wholesale centre (CWC) in Oba, Idemili south LGA of Anambra state.
Bankole Aminu, NAIP national chairman, said the new research centre will focus on quality assurance processes, ensuring that all pharmaceutical products undergo thorough quality evaluations upon receipt and before distribution.
Aminu added that the commitment aims to enhance the integrity of Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector and confirm compliance with national and international standards.
“The centres will be equipped with conference facilities designed for training, workshops, and collaborative research meetings, fostering dialogue and innovation among industry stakeholders,” he said.

“I want to thank the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, for generously providing this land at no cost, and I extend my gratitude to everyone here today, especially Igwe Ezechuamagha I of Ogidi Kingdom,” Aminu said.
Okwor Azubuike, past president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), praised Anambra’s proactive role in pharmaceutical development.

“Anambra has always been a pacesetter. I’m glad we are living up to expectations in pharmacy, especially in the south-east,” Azubuike said.
“I see the energy in the NAIP national chairman, and we will all support you in this endeavour.”
Olumide Akintayo, past president of PSN, added, “Congratulations to NAIP for producing such an inspiring leader who is a son of the soil. Given what is happening in Kano, I believe that the centre in Anambra will be even more impressive”.
