Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has directed yet another attack on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

On Saturday, Tinubu alleged that the electoral body was planning to rig the 2015 election in favour of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“INEC is colluding with the presidency to rig the forthcoming election. They have merged with Jonathan to form a formidable rigging body,” he had said.

However, speaking on Wednesday during the commemoration of the sixth anniversary of Adams Oshiomhole as governor of Edo state, Tinubu described INEC as an arm of PDP.

He also accused the federal government of starving APC states of funds with the purpose of hindering development.

“INEC is an arm of the PDP … INEC and PDP are Siamese twins but APC will separate them,” he said.

Tinubu faulted the second-term declaration of the president, lamenting the widespread insecurity in the country.

“No sane leadership will stay‎ and watch part of his country taken away by insurgence. Jonathan should go. If he refuses to go, we will sweep him away.”

On his part, Oshiomhole criticised Jonathan for saying that PDP would capture the state in the forthcoming election, as APC’s achievement “outweighs” that of PDP.

He challenged PDP to prove him wrong, accusing the ruling party of generating darkness and urging the people to vote PDP out of power at the centre in order to create stability in the power sector.

“Right here in this stadium, the president said that Edo state, our own great state, the heartbeat of the Nigerian nation, will fall to PDP,” he said.

“Let me ask you, can Edo State fall? Can the president fall any of you? To fall is to collapse, to fall is to speak in the language of soldiers. When they have used the force of firearms to overcome their enemies and they capture them with the aid of guns after killing many, they can say that the territory has fallen.

“So is the president going to use the armed forces to fall the people of Edo state? I want to put him on notice that Edo state is not an enemy territory to be felled by armed forces and the commander-in-chief must not target Edo for falling. Edo will stand and march on.

“As long as the PDP has power, the Nigerian people will never have power. Even as we speak, this stadium is being powered by generator.”

Aminu Tambuwal, speaker of the house of representatives; Mohammadu Buhari, former head of state; Atiku Abubakar; former vice president; John Odigie-Oyegun, APC national chairman; Audu Ogbeh, the party’s national leader; Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo state and a host of others attended the event.
