INEC postpones issuance of PVCs in Kaduna

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the suspension of the issuance of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) earlier scheduled to begin on Friday in Kaduna state.

According to NAN, Halliru Tambuwal, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), announced the postponement at a meeting with stakeholders on Thursday.

Represented by Yusuf Hadejia, the administrative secretary, the REC said the issuance of the PVCs would now hold from November 28 to 30.

Adding that the continuous voter registration had also been shifted to December 3 to 8, he said the postponement was to enable the commission prepare adequately for the exercise.

The issuance of the PVCs will hold in 5,101 polling units across the state, while 255 wards would be used for the continuous voter registration.
