Ini-Abasi Umotong is the most beautiful girl in the Super Falcons according to a survey among 50 young male adults in Winnipeg conducted by TheCable during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.   

The 21-year-old didn’t play a single minute of the 270 involving the Nigerian team in Winnipeg and Vancouver, but her beauty which “was gleaned from their training sessions in the stadium before the games and from the Internet” remained in the memories of the young men, mainly Nigerian students who took part in the Beauty Survey.

Interestingly, 74 percent of the men surveyed were captivated by her “photogenic look, dark complexion and radiant smile”, which consigned Francisca Ordega to second position with 13 percent of the votes.

USA-based college student, Courtney Dike, couldn’t court much vote, as she came third with 9 percent while “others” accounted for the remaining votes.

The survey took into account the touchy nature of topics on Sex and Sexism in Canada so certain words were expunged from the initial draft.

The next category was previously tagged The Sexiest but the majority of the sample size frowned at the choice of words. It had to be toned down to The Most Physically Endowed Super Falcon.

The change made no difference, though, as Ini-Abasi Umotong’s charm on the men remained irresistible.

The margin reduced this time but the striker was still able to grab 61 percent of the votes for the Most Physically Endowed, which was best explained by a respondent who used football terminologies.

“She has a good goalkeeper, defence, and attack,” he said.

Another respondent preferred to use his hands shaped in an hour glass to explain it.

Desire Oparanozie got 30 percent of the votes to place second. But we didn’t ask if her name played a role in it. Anyway, it wasn’t part of the survey questions.

Francisca Ordega was in the top-three again, getting 9 percent of the votes.

The poll threw up a surprising result in the Wife Material category.

Respondents were obviously not swayed with facial beauty and physique when it was the choice of whom to take home to mama!

Like one of them puts it:

“You might as well be the most beautiful or the sexiest but being a wife material ranks high amongst African men whether with those of us in Winnipeg or those in Warri where I come from,” he said.

This category solely works on the assumption that our respondents have had an opportunity dating the players. All of them relished the prospect!

They even gave some of the qualities that will enhance the “relationship”, like loving God, loving you, getting along with friends and family, knowing how to cook, showing respect, having a good look, sexual compatibility, intelligence and independence.

Asisat Oshoala makes her debut here, polling the most votes with 53 percent.

It’s worth researching if the Super Falcons poster girl’s intelligence on the pitch and independence off it influenced her top spot. But it’s safe to conclude it made a difference.

Courtney Dike’s smile and charm got her 22 percent of the votes while Onome Ebi was third with 18 percent of the votes.

The beautiful game has an ugly problem when it comes to misogynistic abuse, but we hope you didn’t see this Beauty Survey in the same light.

Our respondents love women and it goes beyond beauty.

But then, football is not called the beautiful game for nothing.
