Inter Lagos FC unveil vision to ‘inspire, help local footballers’

Inter Lagos FC, a Nigerian football club, has announced plans to begin a movement for local football to “foster unity and growth through sustainable sporting initiatives”.

The club held its press launch at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Victoria Island on Wednesday.

At the event, Inter Lagos FC showcased its commitment to “setting a new standard in football administration”.

The club also unveiled its “dynamic approach to growth and on-the-field execution”.

Inter FC is led by Lanre Vigo, co-founder and CEO; and supported by a team of “high achievers” including Olumide Fayankin, director and co-founder; and Gatumi Aliyu, director and co-founder.

Others are Oluwatosin Fashoyin, the chief operating officer; Gabriel Adigwe, the general manager; and Gabriel Ezema, the team’s head coach.

Speaking on the vision of the club, Vigo, in a statement, said: “Our commitment extends far beyond the pitch”.

“We envision Inter Lagos FC not only as a powerhouse in football, but as a beacon of inspiration for our players, moulding them into exemplary individuals who will positively impact society,” he said.

“As we strive for excellence in every match, our ultimate goal is to create a legacy of integrity, resilience, and community engagement, serving as a guiding light for young football enthusiasts across Africa.

“We believe that by instilling values of discipline, teamwork and perseverance, we can empower our players to become leaders and national references.”

On his part, the club’s head coach reaffirmed his pledge to implement a balanced playing style that promises to delight fans and spectators alike.

Inter Lagos have won their last five matches in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and are currently second in the Conference B table of the 2023/24 league with 16 points after nine matches.
