Nduka Irabor, chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), has accused the media for under-reporting the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The LMC boss faulted the hype given to the Barclays Premier League over the domestic game and urged journalists to report more activities from the NPFL.

“We spend too much time talking about the EPL and other foreign leagues. Talk about the Nigeria leagues. We want the media to join us in this because our players are good,” Irabor told the media.

“We sit back in Lagos behind your mic and desk and talk about foreign leagues. We play the impression as if it’s not the English Premier League we used to see.

“There is so much happening in the domestic league. Talk about it and see how many fans will come back to the stadium.

“You know how much Nigerians pay for EPL. Bring that money into the domestic league and see if we will not transform it.”

The new NPFL season will resume in March.
