Gboyega Oyetola, governor of Osun, says he believes the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be free and fair.

The election is billed to hold on Saturday.

Speaking on Friday during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Osun APC secretariat, Oyetola urged supporters of all aspirants to be peaceful while exercising their rights.

“I believe we are going to have a very peaceful, free and fair election tomorrow,” Oyetola said.

“I want to enjoin all the supporters of the aspirants, please, ensure peace. It is not a do-or-die affair; it is not a battleground.

“I don’t have to talk much because I am now an aspirant. God bless you ”

Julius Ucha, secretary of the primary election committee, said everything has been put in place to make the election successful.

“Everything needed has been put in place to facilitate this assignment,” Ucha said.

“Let me assure you, we are peace-loving people and we are resolute in Osun and we want to assure you that a lot has taken place to ensure that we have a hitch-free exercise for tomorrow’s primary election.

“All necessary information has been sent down to the public to seek their cooperation to ease this assignment and I assure you that by the grace of God, we will have a hitch-free primary election tomorrow.”

The three APC aspirants are Oyetola,
Moshood Adeoti, a former secretary to the state government (SSG), and Yusuf Lasun, a former deputy speaker of the house of representatives.
