Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi has committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term deal.

Iwobi has been at Arsenal since he was nine years old, making his first-team debut in 2015.

The 21-year-old has since played 98 times for the north London club, scoring nine goals.

“It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from young,” Iwobi told the club’s official website after penning the deal.

“To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling.”

He featured for the first time under new boss Unai Emery as Arsenal thrashed Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 last weekend.

Emery also expressed delight at seeing Iwobi commit his future to the Gunners.

“I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us,” Emery said.

“He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

Iwobi was linked with a move to Lazio a few weeks ago, but he has put an end to speculation over his future by signing the deal.
