Another Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, will contend with Achraf Hakimi of Morocco and Franck Kessie of Cote D’Ivoire for the youth player of the year award.

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala, who is the current African football queen, will slug it out with two of her contemporaries, Onome Ebi and Franscisco Ordega, to retain her crown.

According to CAF, the shortlisted nominees were decided by votes from the members of the CAF technical & development committee.

The final phase will involve voting from CAF media experts, legends, coaches of the quarter-finalists of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, as well as coaches and captains of the 54 member associations.
