Ize-Iyamu, Clem Agba… APC clears 12 Edo governorship hopefuls for primary election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared 12 governorship hopefuls for the party’s primary election in Edo state.

The APC governorship primary is scheduled for February 17, 2024.

The aspirants are vying for the APC ticket for the September 21, 2024 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Sulaiman Argungu, APC national organising secretary, said the 12 governorship hopefuls purchased forms and were screened on Thursday and Friday.

Argungu said certificates of screening will be presented to the contenders at the party secretariat on Saturday.

Ize-Iyamu, the APC candidate in the 2020 Edo governorship election; Clem Agba, ex-minister of budget and national planning; and Oserheimen Osunbor, former governor of the state, are among those vying for the APC ticket.
