The Jigawa state judicial service commission has recommended the compulsory retirement of Alkali Muhammad, an upper sharia court judge, over allegations of misconduct.

In a statement on Saturday, Abbas Rufa’i, spokesperson of the commission, said the judge committed an offence when a litigant appeared before him at an upper sharia court in Birnin Kudu.

However, the details of the offence were not disclosed in the statement.

Rufai said the decision to recommend the judge for the punishment was reached at the 70th meeting of the commission held in Dutse on Thursday.
