Kabiru Danbaba, the emir of Gusau, on Tuesday honoured President Goodluck Jonathan with the title of Garkuwan Manoman Zamfara (the shield of Zamfara farmers).

The title, which was in recognition of the president’s contributions to farmers in the state, means “President Goodluck Jonathan is the shield of farmers in Zamfara.”

The emir commended the president for appointing sons of the soil Aliyu Gusau as minister of defence and Alhaji Bashir Yuguda as minister of state for finance, among others.

Responding, Jonathan, who was in the state to inaugurate his presidential campaign committee, said if re-elected, he would continue to support farmers and farming activities in the state.
