PDP: ‘GEJ contesting against Tinubu, not Buhari’

PDP: ‘GEJ contesting against Tinubu, not Buhari’

17:18 2014

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lampooned Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, saying that President Goodluck Jonathan is going into the 2015 presidential contest with the main opposition party’s national leader, Bola Tinubu – not Buhari.

Speaking on Sunday through Olisa Metuh, its spokesman, PDP branded Buhari as merely a front for Tinubu to “whom he had already surrendered his powers and first official assignment of choosing a running mate”.

“This development clearly confirms that Buhari is not in charge, may have been compromised and willing to be appropriated. In fact, patriotic Nigerians from across the six geo-political zones are now embarrassed that Buhari is playing a godson to Tinubu,” it said.

“In surrendering his prerogative of choosing his running mate, Buhari has confirmed that he is being appropriated and compromised to serve a personal and narrow group interest of a cabal on whose ticket he emerged as the presidential candidate.

“This APC cabal under the command of Tinubu tampered with all the rules of their party to achieve their selfish agenda of planting surrogates in all strategic positions to enable Tinubu expand his economic and political frontiers the way and manner he did in Lagos state.

“Therefore a vote for Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election is clearly a vote for Tinubu, his political and economic interests.

“Indeed, the possible calculation of this cabal, if they ever get to power, is to choke up Buhari and ultimately frustrate him out of office, thereby allowing Tinubu to have total control of the economic and political interests of the nation.

“Therefore, the question the citizens want answered remains, is Tinubu the face of the so-called change the APC wants to bequeath to Nigerians?

“The APC and its leadership have clearly shown that to them, national interest is secondary to Bola Tinubu’s business interests, little wonder many are now calling APC Asiwaju’s personal consortium.”

Now that PDP knows they can’t fault the person of GMB they are going to get at the opposition using a campaign of calumny Tinubu. I think Nigerian understands this game better now and won’t be swayed by these antics.

PDP is kicking against the coming change but it’s too late. Call Buhari puppet, godson or godkid of the Devil, we will vote for him. Jonathan is a godson of Edwin Clarke and the likes. Buhari even has a more visionary godfather in Tinubu if Metuh’s insinuation is true. By the way, that’s a very lazy reporting from Frederick Nwabufo. We would be better with a cut-and-paste of Metuh’s speech.

Buhari who? Buhari’s candidacy is dead on arrival. Dictatorships belong to the Nigerian gory past which Buhari belongs. Nigeria is moving forward. 2015 presidential election is over. Let APC reorganize for 2019 with a credible flagbearer. No more dictatorships in Nigeria. PERIOD.
