Jonathan, Patience visit Awolowo family

Former president, Goodluck Jonathan and Patience, his wife, visited the Ikenne home of late HID Awolowo on Wednesday to commiserate with the family over the demise of the nonagenarian.

Jonathan was aslo accompanied by Gbenga Daniel, the immediate-past governor of Ogun state, Yinka Odumakin, prominent activist, and some notable politicians.

The former number-one citizen, who has made few public appearances since he left office on May 29, visited the deceased at frequent intervals during her lifetime.

Jonathan and his wife were last seen together in public on September 8 when Seriake Dickson, governor of Bayelsa state, flagged off his re-election campaign at the Samson Siasia sports complex in Yenagoa.

Olusegun Obasanjo, former Nigerian president; Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos, are among the dignitaries who have visited the family since Saturday when HID died.
